  1. Yes, you do have to send it off.  I'd just add, take and keep a photocopy, just in case.  It's amazing how many documents aren't "received by DVLA" . . .  Never send an original document to them without keeping a copy.

  2. Sorry, can't be done online;

  3. you can do a change of address on line hun.

  4. you have to send it it to dvla

  5. Well the state you are in is going to make a difference. Some states require you to prove your address with documentation of the new address, 911 you know. It seems to me that most states will not allow you to change it on line..

  6. You have to send it to DVLA to change the address, but you can do the tax online, you don't need the registration document for that.

  7. Take the paperwork to your local court house and let them make the change.

  8. You will be able to re-tax using a different form (can't remember the number of it offhand) Then change your adress details on the Vehicle Registration Document (VRD) and send it to DVLA.

    As previously said take photocopies as DVLA are notorious for making mistakes.  If I can take a little time:-

    My wife changed her car last November, The vehicle is a registered disabled (tax exempt) vehicle.  DVLA local office managed to issue the correct tax disc but DVLA Swansea didn't change the VRD.  That was the first prob.

    Two weeks later she received a tax disc, MOT and insurance cert in someone elses name referring to her old car!!  -  DVLA again!
