Hi, I 've booked a flight with virgin blue to canberra and just wonder if anyone can tell me whether I can change my flight to Rockhampton in central Queensland. My flight is on Sept.25th, so do I have enough time to change my flight? Thanks

  1. Budget carriers usually charge a stiff fee or offer no refunds for cancellation. It all depends upon the class you are booked in and the fare you paid. Different fare classes have different terms and conditions. You should read the cancellations policy of Virgin Blue before you take such a decision and also find whether you are eligible for a refund or re-routing. Ordinarily, an airline allows you to change the destination but you'll be charged extra for this, unless these costs are covered by any surplus accrued by fare adjustments...or simply...if your ticket to the new destination costs lesser than the previous one for which you had booked.

Regarding the time schedule...you are running out of time. Tickets for any particular flight get expensive by the day as the date of travel approaches. For example, a $100 fare you purchased on that flight, say 90 days ago, can be $200 today. Airlines offer lower fares as an incentive to those who book early and to ensure that a maximum number of seats are filled on any particular flight.
