When I serve at Air Force, can I change my job?

If yes, how can I do that? When can I change job after how many years?

  2. Yes you can and it all depends what job you want and what jobs are in need of people at the moment. Normally you have to wait two years (if you enlist for 4 years) before you can cross train (a term we use for switching jobs). To cross train you'll need to go to the personnel office and apply for the new job. Provided your current job is not undermanned, you have a high enough ASVAB and the job you want is open or needing people you can get that other job.  

  3. You have to stay in your job for 2.5 years , before you can try and cross train.

    If you are in a severely overmanned AFSC.

    But if your AFSC is not severely over manned, you generally have to wait untill your first reenlistment to change.

    But if your in an under manned AFSC, they might not let you retrain, even at reenlistment time.

    The AF used to allow everyone to retrain at reenlistment, then they changed the policy.
