so i had the worse first day of school on thursday and the worst 2nd day of school friday. I sat and ate lunch in the corner by myself then stayed in the bathroom until the bell rang. Do you think i will be able to change my schedule to have a different lunch. And trust me i will not make new friends so don't say that cause i don't have many people in my grade at lunch and I'm not sitting with the freshman. Will my Guidance Counselor understand or just say i cant change it.

please answer

  1. It can often be difficult to change such things as schedules fit together "just so."  But it doesn't hurt to try.  However, be ready for disappointment.  If you aren't disappointed what a wonderful surprise!  If you are disappointed, then you have some choices to make; sit alone and deal, or get over yourself and sit with freshmen.

  2. i hang in the bathroom cuz dats where it all goes down :P fights etc.

  3. i'm not sure that your counselor will change it. you can try to take a class during that period.

  4. The problem is not your lunch period. It is your inability to make friends and your looking down at the freshmen./

  5. It depends on your school's policies.

Some schools (like mine) won't change schedules because they want to crack down on violence, overcrowding (or what ever they think is needed) during that time. They will only make exceptions to this during the first two weeks of school.

Other schools are more lenient and will be willing to switch your lunch period, but they might make you take a class in its place.

I think you should check with your schools policies.

  6. You can ask, but if your couselors are like our counselors, they don't change things for the reasons you have listed.

    However...

Whatever period controls your lunch (at my school, it is 4th period)...tell the counselor that you would like to change classes because you need a change to that *class*. Have a plan...figure out what you want to swap it with. Be careful, though...be sure that the period change will actually change your lunch to the one you want.

If they absolutely won't change it, maybe you can ask a teacher if you can eat in their room and just hang. I have about five students each year who just sit in there and either study or nap or listen to their ipods, and no, they don't have to put up with me because I don't stay in there with them. Don't bother/mess with a teacher with a class at that time though.

    Good luck!

  7. If your school is like my school and you want to change your lunch period, you also have to change your third period class.
