Im pretty sure the school has received my fafsa because they have sent me a reward letter. But it only have loans on it. The first time I did the fafsa I did it wrong and didn't qualify for the pell grant. I think thats what my school still believe. But I fixed it and now I do qualify..so how does my school get this info? will they send me a new award letter?

  1. The school will (or should) get this info (FAFSA correction form that you did) in several days after you submitted your correction form. Therefore, after a few days, go on the school's website and check whether your award estimation has changed. If not, then contact them via email.

  2. You can make any changes on your FAFSA that you need to make. It can take 3 to 5 days for the corrections to take place and a new one electronically sent to your school called and ISIR. Grants are only for undergraduate studies and if the FAFSA said no before but yes now does not mean that you will actually get it. Another tip the Department of Education does select 30% of its applicants for verification so the school may ask you for a copy of your federal tax return and that of your parents if you are a dependant to prove the corrections that you have made are correct. I would contact your financial aid department and ask if you were given grants based on your corrected FAFSA.

  3. Contact the school and tell them you filled out a new FAFSA.  Ask them to review your financial aid situation and see where it leads.
