Can I charge my camera battery if it isn't dead?

My camera is a DSC-W35..can I charge the battery to keep it charged even if it is only used up a little?

  1. Sure you can... Of course you can keep it on the charger even if it isn't low. Sometimes the battery is used up more frequent (you use more charges) then regular, but thats no harm on the camera or batteries...

  3. Yes you can. Most user manuals say not to because any charge will take life away from the battery its self. A battery will not last forever and they do gradually die but if you are only going to keep that camera for one or two years then you probably don't have to worry.

    My personal suggestion is to charge after it is halfway used up. Unless of course you will not be able to charge for a long time then you can top it off. But in general I would not charge it when it is above halfway through, it is usually at the 1/4-1/3 mark that I charge mine at.

  4. Yes, I do it to mine all the time.  Whenever I go out and use some of the battery, I charge it so it will be full the next time I need it.  Started doing that when I wanted to use it but could not cuz the battery was dead.
