One of our staff has very low productivity as in he is taking hours over doing a report. I caught him as I came into the office with a website with games on it and he quickly minimised it. Can I check very easily how often he is using this particular web page. Simple answers only - I am not very pc literate!

  1. you want a key logger, they record every key pressed on the computer and is very invisble to the user search for a key logger on google i cant remember where i got mine

  2. Yes you should have a history file. go into TOOLS and down to internet options click SETTINGS and the click VIEW FILES and everything should be there or click on VIEW and go to EXPLORER BAR and then click HISTORY you should have what you need, By chance he cleared it, then you know he may have violated your internet policy by covering his tracks or Downloading inappropriate software and/or material to the company computers, In other words you wasn't at working. You must first make sure everyone has signed the policy and agree to the terms of using company property. Hope this helps. You should have you case already made before hand and do it in a private place with one witness.Or it is harassment.

  3. key loggers are useless if he s is just clicking a mouse, they are also a security risk in themselves, as they can be highjacked.

just send him away, open the internet browser click favourites then choose history and there it all will be.

If there is no history then he is out smarting you by deleting history, which is in tools.

  4. Yes if it's on your network.

  5. Yes you are quite in order to check which sites have been used on your computers.  If you are not sure how to do it yourself then contact a local 'expert' who will do it for you, the cost will be worth it for your peace of mind and will give you the opportunity to possibly overcome the problem with your employee.
