I am a full time student and have been working throughout the summer break and have been paying tax since starting work. I am due to finish work in the first week of september. Is there a way that I can claim back my tax before the end of tax year?

It just happens that I am earning enough at the moments that if this wage continued over the whole year I would be paying tax. However, because I am only earning it for approx 3 months I will not have earnt enough to be paying tax.

Many thanks for any help

  1. Once you have finished work and received your p45 which confirms your earnings and tax deducted you will be able to claim a refund by popping into your local tax office.

If you return to work before the end of the tax year though the fact you have already received a refund will come back into play
