I am doing a adult returners course and only getting £30 a week adult learning grant, I am not living at home but with my boyfriend's mum who is also on benefits, I maybe too late to claim now as my course ends June 08 but maybe I could get some backdated if I should have been receiving something like Income Support maybe? I am going to do Access to Nursing in Sep 08 and wondered if and what I can claim? I was 21 last Nov. Thanks all

  1. Yes you can, but not if you are on benifits.

you need to be at college for at least 12 hours per week.

the grants range from £20,000 to £35,000 per year.

You need to be studying at least NVQ level2 or A levels....access course wil qualifiy you no problem.

It is to early yet to apply, because first you need to have applied and been accepted on a course as prove of what you are doing.

The grants are not usually paid untill late sep / early oct.

Job seekers wil give you all the info.

    Good Luck to you
