I am about 1/32 Italian (or less) and I am a little bit more than 1/32 Irish, I know they are tiny fractions, but can I claim to be part Italian and part Irish?

  1. Yes you can and as a matter of fact I am part Irish and Italian.

  2. yes

  3. Why wouldn't you? Unless you have a problem with that side of the family or those countries, be proud of them

  4. sure, why not. are your friends and acquaintance going to demand genetic testing?

  5. Sure, we are all a mix of cultures here.

  6. Did you not just say that you have an ancestor from Italy, and one from Ireland?  That is how you arrive at being part something, so clearly, you can claim that.  (I assume you have actually researched, and have records to show who that ancestor was, and where he/she actually was born).

As long as you have actually researched a fact, then you can "claim" it.   If your research says "people believe that"... you don't have proof, you only have what someone else has concluded, and no way to know if they are right or wrong.

If people want to argue with you about your documented research... talk about football or something else.

Your only need is to understand the difference between DOCUMENTED RESEARCH and theories or beliefs.

  7. If you can drink like a fish and can fully bathe yourself with a sink, I'd say so.

  8. Yes! Part of you, although a very small part, of you is Italian and Irish!

  9. You are part of all your ancestors.

  10. only if when you do so, it isn't misleading someone into doing something for you based on their supposition that you are mostly Irish and Italian.   If it is for fun, to enjoy St. Paddy's day and Columbus Day, then go for it.  Otherwise, if someone asks your background, be inclusive and tell the whole enchilda.  They'll get bored in about 5 seconds, anyway, so the question is really of no consequence.

  11. of cousre you! can it's in your blood lad!
