Can I collect unemployment if I've been working as a temp?

I've been working at this place for the past 9 months getting paid through a temp agency. If I were to loss my position due to no fault of my own, would I be able to collect unemployment? I see on my payroll checks that I am paying unemployment insurance? But I am unsure if working through temp agencies disqualifies me from collecting? My guess I should be eligable to collect, assuming they have no other spot available for me. thanks - just concerned in these tough economic times.

  1. working  temporary jobs does not disqualify you to collect unemplyment, as long as you didn't refuse any assignments offered.  I do not know what sta you work in, but most  use a quartly formula-they look at how much you earned on a quartly basis- they normally go back 9 quarters. So, if you were to file today, they would look at how much you earned from Jan-Apr 2007. If you were not working and didnt have wages that far back, you might have a problem. You would be eligible to collect since you lost your job thru no fault of your own, but you would not have enough wages on the record to qualify. Did you have wages in the year 2006 and 2007? this is very important
