Okay, here is the situation:

I have taken 3 SAT tests already (so retaking it again is extremely unrealistic)

the first time i have made a 1160 (For the purpose of bright futures i have excluded the writing score)

Then 2nd time a 1260:

Math: 690

Reading: 570

The 3rd time a 1260 (again -_-)

Math: 700

Reading: 560

In combination of the 2 best sections from all 3 tests gives me a 1270

Math: 700 (from the 3rd test)

Reading: 570 (from the 2nd)

The bright futures scholarship requires a composite score of 1270 for 100% stated here :

http://www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org/ssfad/bf/fasrequire.htm

My question here is, can i combine the reading and math scores from multiple tests to meet this requirement? or does the requirement of 1270 has to be met in 1 test sitting?

I also understand colleges pick the best sections from each of your tests during the admission process.

  1. Yes. If you click on this Florida Bright Futures link http://www.floridastudentfinancialaid.or... it states "Subsections of the SAT or ACT from different test dates may be used to meet the test criteria." It is toward the bottom, so scroll down. On the left it states "Test Scores" and gives a list of test information. You can combine two different test dates. Good luck!

  2. "Best composite score" would mean that they are going to reference your highest scores for each sections.

If you are further uncertain, your best option to clarify would be to email the scholarship organizers.

    Good luck!
