I wanted to sanitize my floor and I heard on TV that using a solution of bleach would be the best way, but how much and how much water to dilute it with? And will it be ok on my wooden floor?

And when cleaning, should I use this solution on my walls and ceilling? or is it unnessecary to clean those parts?

  1. No need to use bleach on hardwood flooring, as you may damage the surface. Maybe try once of those steam mops to kill any germs that are there. But really, all you need is half a bucket of warm water mixed with one third cup of methylated spirits and mop floor. This will clean and sanitize the floor, plus it will dry quicker. The guy that polished my floorboards gave me this advice to keep my floors looking good and lasting longer.

No need to clean walls and ceilings unless they are dirty. If so, try sugar soap.

  2. NO - do not use bleach on hardwood floor.

Use very little water on hardwood or you will ruin the finish on them.

Like the previous answer use a little bit of Murphy's Oil Soap and only  amp mop your floors.  There should be no need to sanitize floors, after all we walk on them don't we ?

    Just keep them clean.

  3. Do you want to ruin your floors?  Hardwood floors can be washed with lukewarm water and murphys oil soap. I don't suggest anything anything other than that.

A regular mulitpurpose cleaner and water will work fine on walls as long as you start at the bottom and work your way to the top to avoid streaking.
