Can I connect a Motorola surfboard to another part of my house through the regular tv cable?

  1. I think your asking if you can just move your cable modem.

    No, the other outlets in your house will have a Lowpass filter. Your cablemodem is low freq. (thats just the frequencies they decided to use). The particular frequency is blocked on all but the one that your modem is on (if it was installed properly). Even if you took the filter off the one outlet you wanted to use, the signal has to be just the right strength. Maybe its ok right now, maybe not. You could try it but if you s***w it up you will have to talk to your cable company and pay their rates.

    You could try extending the current port to wherever your going to use it. But dont use cheap cables and ever time theres a break in the line (splitter, splice block, s***w two cables together) it will lose some signal.
