The DCR-HC28 is a MiniDV camcorder, so it connects to a PC via firewire.  Firewire is also known as iLink or IEEE1394, but they're all the same thing.

If your PC hasn't already got one you'll need to install a firewire card. They're cheap, easy to install and readily available. You'll also need a firewire cable.

Hi, you will need i-Link Cable to send  your videos to your PC, your PC must have also an i-Link port (VAIOs) or Firewire , in case you have firewire you might need a converter.

If you don't have a Sony VAIO or if you have problems using the ILink cable with the firewire converter, I strongly recommend you better get a smth like a  PCTV Pinnacle Card.
