Can I connect to the internet wireless using my USB bluetooth pen?

We have just changed internet provider and recieved a wireless modem for the main pc. But my laptop is upstairs and we didnt get a wireless usb pen with it. Would I be able to connect through my wireless bluetooth stick? My one friend thinks so but Im not very sure how that would work. will it work or do i have to get a wireless pen? x

  1. Many laptops are WiFi ready.  If your computer is, then it should pick up from the wireless modem.  Im not sure what a wireless pen is.... but if you're talking about the wireless thumbs that make a pc have a WiFi, then yes, it should work.


  2. No, You must have an ISP, Internet Service Provider, USB is not the way they are sad at best very unreliable

  3. Wireless and bluetooth use different protocols, so no.  But most laptops have wireless built in.  Check the documentation.  Or post the make and model of the laptop and someone who owns one will tell you if it has.

    If it hasn't, don't get the "stick" type adapters - the range is terrible.  Get one of the kind that sits on the desk.  If you're above the router, lay the router's antenna horizontal, and lay the adapter (at the laptop) horizontal (lay it down on the desk) and parallel to the antenna on the router.  You'll gget the best signal when the antennas are parallel to each other.  (You can't do that with the stick, unless you want to hold the laptop at some weird angle to use it.)
