Can I converrt Wmv/Avi video files to play on DVD player?

I have a Sony DVD player that will play DVD files but it seems to prefer DivX files or a compatible format can I convert these files into ones that are compatible with the player?

  1. yes, there are a # of programs that will do this. i ran across this 1 in my inbox from a friend of mine. i have not tried it though. also, some of the software (ie. nero), have conversion s/f as well, i have burned mpegs, and wmv's to a cd for playback on my dvd player. g/l, sos

  3. There are a bunch of open source programs that can convert video to the preferred format.  One I like is "handbrake".  Easy to use.  Just google handbrake software.
