Can I convert my Canadian driver's license to a Texas driver's license?

I have recently relocated to Houston, Texas in the US from Vancouver, BC, Canada. I currently hold a valid Canadian driver's license that is valid for up to 5 years. I was wondering whether it was possible for me to exchange my Canadian driver's license for a Texas driver's license without having to re-take the knowledge/road test. I would really appreciate a prompt reply!

  1. it's not an exchange nor a conversion.  but having another DL will facilitate getting a new one as you have experience driving.  You'll have to take the test because it's not assumed that the laws are the same everywhere.

  2. no you can not you must go through the knowledge and driving tests in the united states before they can issue your new license
