Question:

Can I convert my Ipod collection to MP3 or AAC easily??

My Ipod 80gb video isn't syncing with the Itunes, and I think it's dead.

I'm thinking of getting a different brand.

How can I get my collection, both AAC & lately Apple Lossless, converted to a format non-Apple players will play, with minimal quality loss?

  1. Some newer models support AAC as M4A. They, like iPod, don't support AAC+. Sony has some that will accept M4A if I recall.

I would not recommend converting a lossy format into another. Artifacts from the recompression will be audible.

    From lossless you'll be fine.

Winamp, with the Apple Lossless codec installed on the computer should be able to convert them. It converts everything else. I have not personally converted an Apple lossless file. I work with APE, FLAC, and SHN, they'll all work in Winamp.

  2. Aimersoft Video Converter is a powerful one that can convert videos and put video on any players.

Also it support various video formats. You can convert video between all popular video formats.

  3. just convert them to MP3, burn them to a cd then import them to windows media and make sure the settings are set to mp3 and not wma then there you go ^_^

  4. music files from itunes are drm-laden. in order to play them on mp3 players other than ipod and iphone, you need a special program to help strip off the protection and convert the itunes m4p, m4b, m4a music to mp3. i always use tuneclone. my friend introduced it to me. it automatically generates a virtual cd burner, with which the music files can be converted at very high speed.

you can learn more about it from:
