  1. Many manufacturers experimented with this idea in the early 1990's.  Ford created CNG (compressed natural gas) Taurus models and some pickups but dropped the program as gasoline became cheaper again.  Honda has recently released a Civic GX which runs on CNG.  Unfortunately-I never ran across anyone who used their household CNG source as a fueling port for their car.  Also it is very difficult to convert a non-CNG to a full CNG.  Car and Driver featured a dual fuel CNG/Gasoline Volvo wagon made for the Swedish market only a few years ago.  The writers attempted to drive aross the U.S. only on CNG-but found that they could hardly get across a state because the CNG infrastructure was not available.  So, yes you could convert, but it would be cost prohibitive and a  logistical nightmare.  Good Luck.

  2. Yes you can. But you need a high pressure pump to fill the tank in your car. The car would then be good only for trips around town as there are no common fueling stations on the road.

  3. Yes, but the process doesn't work with all vehicles and it can cost of bit to convert it. It may also be hard to refuel away from home.
