Question:

Can I convert one end of a crib frame to a twin headboard? How?

My daughter is ready to move into a big girl bed and I can't find a headboard that I like that works well with the existing furniture(a dresser and chest of drawers). The crib, however, is a match and I was thinking about taking one end of it and using it as a headboard. Would it work? How would I do it? Thx.

  1. The easiest way is to just take the end of the crib, disconnect it from the rest of the crib, and sandwich it between the twin bed and the wall.  The weight of the bed will hold the crib end in place against the wall.

  2. If you pull apart the crib, you should definitely be able to attach it to a bed frame to create a headboard.  Some models are designed specifically to convert, but I don't see why you can use a regular crib for it to.  You may just need to shorten the legs a bit to get it at the right height.
