Can I convert s-video/component to DVI/VGA?

Question

Is any cable can convert the video signal from component/ s-video to VGA/DVI available? I want to output my video from direcTV receiver or DVDplayer to my computer LCD monitor (my monitor has DVI and VGA)? Can I do this? I found a lot of cable sold on ebay to convert VGA/DVI to component, but I don't see the component to DVI/VGA cable, are they the same? thanks!

First off there is no way a DVI to Component would ever work.  DVI is a pure digital signal and Component is a pure analog signal, the two shall never meet without outboard processing of some sort.  If somebody is selling a cable that claims to turn Digital into Analog or vice versa, they are also selling Prime Real Estate in the Florida Everglades.
