Can I cook a classic slow crock meal faster than 8 hours?

I have a banquet classic crock chicken and dumplings meal and it says to slow cook it for 8 to 10 hours , is there any way to cook it in a pot and faster?

  1. You can do that in a pressure cooker faster and it will be flavor full. Pressure cookers are good but remember to release steam or cool down pot before opening.

It should be fine, but not quite as good, as slow cooking = more flavor, if you substitute 30 mins on high per 1 hour on low, with the least time spent on high the better. e.g. a pot roast takes 10-12 hours on low. I usually wind up cooking it for 6 hours on low and 3 hours on high, instead of 12 hours on low.

  3. Alot of times you can turn the pot up to high and cook 4-5 hours. I'm not familiar with that particular meal...but i don't see why you couldn't.
