Question:

Can I counter the bad feng shui of an aquarium in my bedroom without moving it? Perhaps by adding yin items?

I have an aquarium set up in my room and recently have read about it being too yang (too active with life and water) to put in a bedroom which is more centered around yin. Can I counter the effects of this without moving it?

Maybe by covering it at night or adding yin items that would balance the change in energy?

  1. i don't think that you get what water is in fengshui. water is 1 of the major 5 elements. and all 5 elements (alone or in combination) are more powerful than man.

achieving harmony in fengshui is a term used by fengshui practitioners which means that you have applied certain fengshui techniques. it is not balancing yin and yang things in your room.

it is basic fengshui knowledge not to put living plants nor aquarium inside the bedroom, because they can be harmful to your health/ life. even if you cover it at night when you sleep, it will still affect you. that is just how powerful fengshui is.

aquariums are only good when it is placed in the right location in your house using fengshui techniques like flying stars. bec aquariums can activate both good and bad chi, which is an energy that occupies your house. different locations in your house just have different characteristics of chi - it can be good for you or bad for you. if you put the aquarium in the space with bad chi, then bad things happen in your life. if you put it at the good chi area, then life is a breeze for you.

  2. Well, I can tell you already that having an aquarium in your bedroom is VERY good feng shui, so don't even bother with it.

I'm not so sure how you can bring in more Yin, but you can try getting a book on it.

My mom has one and it is very helpful.
