Question:

Can I create a .bat file to auto open a program?

When I start my computer up, I like to have some programs running automatically. One of them is a chat program called Mirc. However, whenever my computer resets due to Windows Updates or whatever, Mirc is not connected anyway and I miss information. When I start Mirc, I have little "scripts" that connect to everywhere I want to be, but I always have to start Mirc. Can I make a batch file to automatically start Mirc, and if yes, how do I install it?

  1. You COULD...but then you have to get something to start the batch file automatically...and if you're going to do that, why not just use the same method to start mIRC directly?

And by "method", I mean put a shortcut to it in the Startup folder on the Start menu.
