Can I cross-train in the Air Force if I don't like my job?

I am going to be doing Aerospace Maintenance....And lets just say I wanted to become a Tactical Air Control Party man..How would I do this?

  1. Yes, you can cross train.  If you are doing a 4 year enlistment, you can start putting in your paperwork around your 3 year mark.  For a 6 year enlistment, it is aroundt your 5 year mark.  You must re-enlist in order for them to cross train you.  If the AFSC you are in is undermanned, you cannot cross train out.  Cross training must be approved by your command.  When you are in your cross training window go to MPF and start your paperwork.


  2. yes you can. go talk to your MPF career adviser. you have to have a certain amount of time already put into the air force.
