I am entering grad school and going part time (only one course is considered PT at my school). Can I defer my undergrad loans with PT schooling? I have federal stafford subsidized and unsubsidized. I also have one SallieMae Signature.

  1. Yes, I'm doing that now and my loan was deferred  automatically.  The loan still accumulates interest, however.

  2. You can defer Stafford Loans (http://www.StaffordLoan.com) from your undergraduate program as a graduate as long as you are enrolled at least "half-time" in graduate school - or another eligible program.

Typically, private student loans (http://www.PrivateStudentLoans.com) have a limited deferment period - if they have one at all.  Those would generally have to be repaid while you are enrolled in graduate school.
