If the said bank decides to take it - and with the appropriate exchange rate. I wouldn't want to try to exchange those Zimbabwean dollars though. It takes about a million of them to get one dollar US

Yes. But only if your bank will take it. You need to check with them first.

you can open an account with Etrade, or other stock investment firms, they usually have the option to hold foreign currencies in your investment portfolio.  

and some of them give you a free checking account, and some even give you an atm/visa card.
