I just started a new job and by the time I get paid I won't have recieved my NY State ID (non-drivers). I have my passport, social security card, other types of ID. If my companies bank is lets say Bank of America, if I go to Commerce (where I have a checking account), will I be able to deposit the check without the NY State ID?

  1. If you have an account at the place you are depositing it then you don't need any ID at all.

  2. Yes, or you could go to bank of america.  Your bank will let you do it without an id anyday of the week.  You might have to verify some personal information.

  3. You can always deposit a check into your account without an ID.  If you were just cashing the check or getting some money back from the deposit they MAY require you to have your ID.  But - usually YOUR back won't require it if you've been a customer of theirs for a while.
