Can I discharge a 10lb Nitrous Bottle into the air?

I have a NOS bottle that I want to list on ebay but its full and I know I can't ship it full..would it not be legal or earth friendly to discharge the bottle?

And if so where do I go to get it discharged?

I'm not aware of any special risk nitrous poses to the atmosphere.  Its still routinely used in dentistry, and no one recaptures it after it leaves your lungs there ;-).   If you have any racing friends, perhaps you could offer to top up their tank, to lessen the amount that goes into the air.  BTW thanks for being responsible and not shipping it as a pressurized 'bomb'.

You will be fine releasing it into the air, just loosen the valve and let it go.......

crack it open and let it bleed into the air. It will be kinda loud so be prepared...

Or you could give it to some pot heads and they could huff it ;) Just kidding, just empty it in the air, no problems.
