Can I dispute a charge with my bank if I used a Mastercard debit card?

I know I could dispute the charge if it was a regular Mastercard, but since it is tied into my bank account (because it's a debit card), do I have the same options and rights? I ordered wedding products from a site that turned out to be a scam.

  1. Call your bank.

  2. Yes you can.  They will require you file a Reg E claim, but you have to do it within a certain time frame.  Call your bank immeditaly to start the process.

  3. Wow that sucks... I would recommend calling your bank, because they will be able to direct you in the right path... if you call your bank, and they couldnt fix it, you could always ask them who to call. Hope i helped :)

  4. If it is a scam then yes. I would also recommend contacting the FTC with the info so they can investigate the site and shut it down if it is truely a scam.

I would go into your bank and see a personal banker and let them know what happened and what you want to dispute.
