Can I donate sperm? Is so, where?

I have a felony on my record. I'm told that sperm banks do extensive backround checks. Would this automatically disqualify my from donating? Weird question, I know. I just heard they pay up to $500 and I could use some spare change. I also know it takes around 6 months to get paid...but where could I go to do this in the Chicago area?

I'd like to know the answer to that question myself...  We could use $500 a pop..  That sounds like a good deal to me..
