Question:

Can I donk? Basketball??

I'm 6'1 at 215 pounds do you guys think I would be able to donk? What muscle groups would I need to work on to get up high enough?

  1. I think you definitely have a chance at dunking. You are fairly tall. You just need to work on your vertical leap and most importantly, your technique. Do lots of calf raises (I recommend 3 sets of 100 reps) , sprints, run up and down a stadium if you have access to one, and of course squats.

    Be sure to give your body a rest, at least one day out of the week. Also, work on your technique. Practice grabbing the rim without a ball first. Jumping off one leg gives you more reach, but if you jump off two legs, you can get higher, since you can use all of your body's strength.

  4. you should work on your calf muscles, and your lower body strength, you can do this by go to a wall and go up and down on your toes do this every night  and you will see signifigant change in the way and how high you jump.

  10. yea its possible. i was able to dunk at 5'5. I'm 6ft and was able to bang with 2 hands b4 knee surgery. your overall body need to be in shape. back, chest, abs, arms, quads, glutes, hamstrings, calves, ankles. your gonna wanna get your body fat to at least 12% or less as well. for example Derek Fisher is 6'2, about 200-210 pounds. you seen his built? he many not have the hops but i seen him dunk b4. he probably just dont want it as bad as some ppl. you have the ability to get ripped like him so use him as ur base and just train more for dunking and you will.
