Question:

Can I download IE7 on Windows 2000?

I'm downloading IE7 for Windows 64 bit Client/Server onto Windows 2000 Professional Edition, but I get an error message saying:"update/iesetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application." Does this mean I can't download it?

  1. You will need to upgrade to Windows XP at the minimum to run IE7.
    I recommend doing so, because with XP you can even upgrade to IE8.
