Can I drink soda with my retainers in?

Somone said something about it can deteriorate the acrylic. Is that true?

Soda can not only deteriorate your retainer-but also your teeth-kinda of the way battery acid would- My friend just had to have 12 crowns done-because of drinking "diet" mountain dew....

Yes, I drank soda with my retainer in. Nothing really happened, unless you want to take your retainer out. If you are allowed~

My retainer was one I could take out, so if you can do the same, i would. But soda is really bad for your teeth. It wears down the enamel. But I think drinking soda a few times with your retainer on won't hurt it.
