Actually it is 49.5cc and I have class D driver's license. The maximum speed is like officially 40mph(but real max speed is about 42mph something).

Can I drive it with my D class driver's license?

Sombody says yes sombody says never.

And one more thing.

If I wanna drive 100cc~150cc scooter, I should get licence. I know this. And does it means that I need to be able to drive manual motorcycle? I mean when I have the road test, does DMV ask me to drive manual thing? I just wanna drive CVT scooter not those manual motorcycles.

  1. I would say you can. However, I would not go by the manufacturer's specs. Depending on your weight, you're max speed could be 30-35mph.

You'll have to Insure, get plates and register it as a "Moped" instead of a motorcycle. And you'll have to keep it at about 30mph riding and you can't ride it on the parkway or interstate.. That way, you'll need your "D" license. Its a good idea to get your M/C permit just to be on the safe side.

Beside, if you're driving a car. Most people drive about 5-miles over the speed limited anyway.

Would not make a difference manual or automatic.

BTW: you ride, not drive a motorcycle or scooter.

  2. No you can not!!!

I recently passed my class M roadtest on a 125 cc yamaha vino.

new  york does not go by engine size, they go by speed.

anything over  30 miles per hour needs a motorcycle license.

under 30 miles per hour it's classified as a moped which you dont need a motorcycle license.

  3. you can drive any 50cc or under bike/scooter with a drivers license in ny if you want to drive anything above 50cc (bike or scooter you need to take a bike test if you take and auto test you can only dive autos if you take a manual you can dive both. If you get a new license it does not affect your 50cc just drive that with you car one.
