try getting an international license from England.You can drive as long as you have an international license. For that i think you have to just give a test and show your registered license. If you are going to be staying in the U.S for a long time, buying a car and yet driving on an international license, your insurance will be very high. so if you are planning to move to the U.S, i will advice to you to give your test asap.
