  1. WITHOUT TAX, YOU HAVE NO VALID INSURANCE!!  You will have a lonnnnnngg time to regret being pulled over, as you will be fined, will get points, probably a ban, and may well have your car crushed!  Police forces often declare a policy of "zero-tolerance" on road-tax dodging.

       Can that be worth it?  Get the garage to collect it or pay to have it taken there on a trailer.

  2. take the back roads and don't drive too slow or fast. Call your insurance company if anything gos wrong

  3. Sorry, they are wrong: You CAN drive it to & from a VIC check without tax;

    Taking the car for a VIC

    When taking the car for a VIC the following must apply:

    repairs must be conducted and the car must be roadworthy and capable of being driven under its own power

    if over 3 years old, the car must be covered by a valid MOT if its to be driven to the VIC

    the person driving the car must be insured to do so the car must display front and rear number plates if its to be driven to the VIC- for assistance in obtaining number plates, contact VOSA on 08706 060 440

    a car can be driven directly to and from a pre-arranged VIC without road tax

  4. Your insurance is invalid if your car isnt taxed. I wouldnt drive it until you have all the correct paperwork, it just isnt worth it.

  5. The short answer is NO

  6. Certainly. Your insurance etc is void without road tax - get the garage to collect it and use trade plates.

  7. the only time you are legally allowed to drive a car without tax on the public road is when you are taking it to an MOT testing station. (as you need the MOT to get the tax).

    Any other use will mean a fine (even being parked on the road).
