Can I drive temporarily in Texas with a Ontario G2 Liscense?

Im visiting friends in Texas, and i was wondering if I could drive in Texas with a G2 Liscense.

  1. Your question is an interesting one, and probably has to be answered by the Texas department of motor vehicles for you to know for sure if the restrictions would be the same for you in Texas as at home.  Texas actually has a graduated licensing program of its own, as do many other US states.   I suspect if you were in an accident, for example, in Texas, and you were driving in a situation not covered by your Ontario license, you might be in some trouble.  So I think your license would apply as it applies in Ontario.  And whose vehicle will you drive there?  If it is your friend's vehicle, there might be issues for them with their insurance if they let you drive, so they need to ask their insurance company about it. And you need to ask the Texas DMV to know for sure.
