Can I drown my body with water?

I drank 3.5 liters in 30 minutes could of I drown myself?

Drowning occurs when fluid goes into your lungs. The water you drank went into your stomach, silly. You CAN get water intoxication from drinking too many litres of water, because it screws up the electrolytes in your cells (sodium, potassium, chloride etc... )but Im not sure if 3.5 L would do it. Didn't that make you puke??

I have heard yes someone can drown drinking too much water. Called water intoxication.   A mom did this same thing from a radio show contest and died soon after from it.  Be careful..  http://chemistry.about.com/cs/5/f/blwate...
