Question:

Can I dye my brows at home?

My hair was dyed a really dark brown 5 days ago. I'm kinda sick of having to keep up with the eyebrow pencil to make my brows match my new hair color. Do any of you use a box dye to dye your eyebrows at home? Is this a good or bad idea? (I know it can be dangerous)

  1. it's a bad idea, and you don't want your eyebrows to match EXACTLY. If you have dark hair, your eyebrows should be 2-3 shades lighter than your head hair. The opposite for people with blond hair. Instead of using the box dye use the same stuff people use to bleach facial hair, but only leave it on for half the time so it only lightens your eyebrows slightly. That is what I do and I have dark hair. I use Jolen Cream Bleach! Read it in Cosmopolitan and it works well.

  2. I have heard that dying your eyebrows at home rarely turns out attractive. Can't say that I've ever tried.

  3. i've dyed mine

but don't leave the color on for more than 5 minutes

i used hair color that's in a box

  4. no just wait till your d**n eyebrows look like **** and i read that if you do that you can get i receiving hair line and youll look like shrek

  5. I dye and bleach my eyebrows on a regular basis - everytime I color my hair.  It's more economical that way, as opposed to dying your eyebrows separate from your hair.

The texture of your eyebrow hair is going to be different than the texture of your head hair, so even if you use the exact same dye on your eyebrows as your head, you'll end up with a slightly different shade, and it tends to look natural - moreso than if you don't dye your eyebrows with your head, and therefore have drastically different shades between your hair and eyebrows.

The danger always lies in the potential for getting dye in your eyes, so take extra special care to keep your eyes protected from accidental splatters and spills.  I keep my eye closed on the side I'm dying, and make sure it's not going to drip before I walk away from the mirror.

Another irritation with dying your eyebrows is that if you are dying a dark color, you will dye your skin underneath, and for a few hours or days, your skin will also be dyed too.  This is why I always do my dye jobs at the beginning of my weekends, because by the time I'm back in public, the skin dye has worn off.

  6. they may possibly have those at a beauty supply store.
