I am a Georgia resident and I wanted to attend the University of Oklahoma this fall. However, financially I cannot afford to attend. My plan is to attend Valdosta State University, in GA, for 2 years then transfer to Oklahoma. Will my credits transfer? How do I find out?

  1. This link has a section and contact info on:

Selecting courses that will transfer and apply toward an OU degree

To help in your educational planning, the Office of Admissions has developed course equivalency tables for the two-year and some four-year colleges in Oklahoma. These tables are also available through the OU Office of Admissions in 127 Buchanan Hall, 1000 Asp Avenue, Norman OK 73019-4076; (405) 325-2252.

Also, I would also check on the admission requirements for tranfer students here:

    http://admissions.ou.edu/transadm.html

Also be sure you realize that you will pay out of state tuition at the Univ of Oklahoma when you do transfer and you will continue to be an out-of-state student your entire duration at this school.  Good luck.
