  1. eck goat cheese tastes like the way a barn smells... but vegans would not eat goat cheese, being a product coming directly from animals.. but yes, raw foodist do eat goat cheese.... if you must, yuck!

  2. I think you're reversing the vegetarian/vegan/raw vegan revolusion.

Goat milk is breast milk from stranger's anyway. I think you would agree from this stand point.

  3. nope.

  4. If you are a Vegan, dairy products including goat cheese are NOT allowed.

If you are a lacto-vegetarian, eat 'vegetarian goat cheese'. Vegetarian cheese does not use Rennet to coagulate milk. Rennet is an enzyme obtained from the animal's stomach. Many companies now use vegetable enzymes, or just use heat/acid to coagulate milk.

Normally, raw foodist do not eat anything exposed to over 115 degrees Fahrenheit. You will not be allowed to eat cheese. For most of the cheeses, they are exposed to heat higher than 115 deg F.

  5. yes it is.... so is goat milk...

  6. Goats are animals.  Vegans don't eat anything of animal origin, so goat cheese is no more acceptable than cow cheese.

As for whether or not it's raw, well I'm going to trust the cheesemaker above me when he says it's not heated to a high enough temp to be considered cooked.  I'm not a raw foodist or a cheesemaker...

  7. Some are right, but the moral issues aside it is a very good choice for a raw foodist, not a vegan, and to Yogesh G milk for cheese is not heated above 98.6 to 102 blood temp and slightly above, this allows the coagulation, I make cheeses and use this scale and they are non rennet cheeses like Ricotta, Goat and Parmesan which are done with bacterial cultures, acids like vinegar/citrus juices and salt.

For vegan who are raw foodist, the use of flavoured tofus and grated frim tofu is a substitute for cheese and there are some, and I say some good soya based cheeses, they vary considerably.

  8. Goat cheese is delicious and my favorite cheese! Go for it!

  9. yes it is... I love it.

  10. If you are going vegan, Goat cheese is NOT considered part of a vegan diet because the source is from animals.  If you want to be a full vegan without any animal byproducts or ingredients, try tofu, or soy cheese.  Hope this helps
