Can I eat tritip rare?

Quoron makes some mock trip tip steaks, so if they sell that at your store go for it! I've made them before and they taste semi good.

Yes.  In fact, tri tip gets tough when it's well done.  It's good rare or medium rare.

Unlike ground beef, it is safe to eat rare because any e coli contamination will be on the outside surfaces of the cut, where it will get destroyed by the heat.
