My mother is a drunk and father isn't always around because of work?

My sister went on my computer and read all of my personal stuff on myspace and told my family that I'm g*y and I attend a GSA youth center. I really don't want to live with my family anymore, or even talk to them, I feel like I'm just disappointing them..

  1. ive heard of people emancipating themselves.. I'm sure you can! I'm very sorry for your home life and I'm even more upset that some parents cant accept their kids for being g*y.. I'm strictly straight but i think they should accept you for who you are and for who you might become one day..good luck!!!!! also at 16 I'm sure you are the age to become emancipated.. sorry just saw the bottom of your question...

  2. You would have to get a lawyer and have a judge emancipate you, but there are conditions you have to meet, you being able to take care of your self financially is the biggest. So if this is what you want talk to a lawyer in your local area to find out for sure.

  3. Nope. But you can go thru family counseling.

  4. Im not sure if you can emancipate yourself or not depending upon the state in which you live. The drinking part really bothers me about your mom, if its all the time theres a problem and very much affecting you. You are still a minor and she needs to be there for you and keep you safe.

Drinking definitely alters your thinking for sure. And your dad has to work alot due to the fact he needs to pay bills. But I understand that you need your family around with these challenging years you have ahead of you being only 16 years old.

I have children of my own always had several jobs but still made time for my kids. And still do and they are 18 and 19 years old and have kids of their own.

I hope that it all works out for you.

    Have a great day

  5. The only way is to show the court you are financially responsible and you are 18,  However you can leave if you have your parents permission and your friends parents can get temporary guardianship which is easy to get.
