Can I enter a civil union with my bicycle?

I love my bicycle we have been together for over 20 years in sickness and in health. She has never failed me on a hill or valley. She looks as good as she did the very first day she came into my life, actually I think she has lost some weight. We have other bicycles together and we are just like family. She contributes to my life imensly and I think it is about time we make our relationship official, and I want to tell the world.

does your state recognize "common-law" marriage. in some states, if you're together for 7 years, you're considered married..

I know 3 guys that married their bikes in Arkansas. So don't listen to these others nay-sayers. Make her an honest bike dude.

PS they're a lot happier now then they were with their ex wives. They never have a headache when you what to ride 'em.

Today, probably not.  Under the law, bicycles are not considered equal to humans. In fact, they are treated as nothing more than property!

I suggest you bring the issue to court. This is a matter of civil rights. Equal treatment for all!

two people declaring union need to appear in front of justice, take vows and sign papers, not mention you need witnesses. In your case one of the entity is not "people", cannot take vows and cannot sign the papers. So, I am sorry to say:

---that you cannot make your union official.

---You already have told the world.

---May be someone would come up with better answer.

I understand your feelings my man. But, and I hope this doesn't disturb you... but your bike, I do not know her name, is female. You could have married her at 12 years old in Kentucky. I'm sorry you waited these past 8 years for nothing... but at least you were together.
