Can I erase the recovery file?

If I can back up the drive that is getting fuller and fuller calling it the recovery files, can I delete what is in the computer? On my computer it says drive D:/

I am running Vista in case you needed that info

  1. You can only back up and remove files that are not linked or needed for programs running on your PC. These are files like documents, pics, songs, movies, etc.

    Any program or system files will have to stay in order to make your PC work.

    I do not know on which drive your system is located, that can change from PC to PC. Mine is on drive D on this PC, and on drive C: on another one.

    Just be careful when you delete files if you do not know what they are. Otherwise you may find that Vista or some of your programs might not work.

    Safest way to go is to say that most of the files in your "my documents" folder is save to back up and remove.
