Question:

Can I exercise in my pool all winter?

I've recently put in a pool to allow me to exercise to help with back problems. I've been exercising every morning and so far, the back seems to be responding well. Living here in Texas, I will probably be able to swim into October before the pool really starts getting cold. I'd like to be able to exercise some through the winter since we still get plenty of 70+ degree days during the winter. However, I'm expecting that the water will probably be in the 60's during the winter, which may not be dangerous but is simply uncomfortable.

I'm thinking that a wet suit will be a lot cheaper than a pool heater. What kind of a wet suit would I need? Would it allow me to be comfortable in the water? Will I need something for my feet / hands / head as well?

  1. well wise choice in choosing swimming as a therapy, its great. I think its a good idea to get a wetsuit instead of a heater wet suits around 200 if you want a good full body suit. make sure  you get one that fits you well, you want it to be snug to keep the body heat in and the water out. if you get it too big it will make you float and youll be colder because the water can circulate threw it.
