Can I expect lower electric and gas bills?

Question

Moving from a 3 bedroom house to a much smaller 2 bedroom apartment. Sq. footage has to be AT LEAST cut in half and all equipment (A/C unit and Heating unit) is relatively similar so I would assume less money paid for electric and gas ..fact or fiction?

You can expect anything you want. Expectin' ain't gettin'. It depends on the age and efficiency of the unit, and the construction and subsequent insulation of your building. Why not ask other residents what their utility bills are?

That depends on the condition, design and efficiency of the heating and cooling units and the building itself.

Ditto on the last posters...you can also call the utility company and they will be able to tell you your yearly average bill and what the prior tenants paid. Good Luck!
