Can I experience snow in Switzerland in the month of may?

Well I am planning to go to Switzerland during third week of may.

Will i be able to experience snow during that time of the year??

  1. Not In the plains of the country (average altitude of 400 meters). But if you go to the higher regions (above approx. 2'500 meters) you should find heeps of it. I remember having done down hill skiing in July... Occasional snowfall in May only in the very high regions of the country (above approx. 4'000 meters).


  2. Yes, you can go up to a glacier.

    You can go to the Titlis Mountain in Engelberg near Lucerne for examlpe (by cablecar from the village). There's snow the whole year.

  3. It's going to be difficult. Most of the mountains may have some snow but not enough by the lifts for anything decent.  Plus global warming has really impacted European mountains.
